SmartBoard Question

Question:  My SmartBoard is not connecting to my macbook.  The red light is displaying on my SmartBoard.

Answer:  Restart your macbook!  Make sure all your cables are plugged in (power adapter, video/projector adapter and SmartBoard cable).  When your macbook enters any type of energy saving mode, it shuts off the power to the USB ports causing you to lose connection to the SmartBoard. By following the steps below, the problem will be corrected.

Very Important! - Make sure your "Energy Saver" settings are set to "Never."
Follow these steps to accomplish this:
1.  Go to System Preferences
2.  Click on the Energy Saver Icon
3.  Click on the Power Adapter tab
4.  Change the Computer Sleep = Never (move slider to right)
5.  Change the Display Sleep = Never (move slider to right)
6.  Uncheck the box = Put the hard disk(s) to sleep when possible
7.  Exit System Preferences
